Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman will deliver the annual State of the City address at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, in Las Vegas City Hall Council Chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.
Mayor Goodman will provide her vision and insight for 2024 and beyond during the State of the City address. The event can be viewed live on KCLV Cable Channel 2, online at www.kclv.tv/live or on livestream. The city will host a live feed on Facebook (www.facebook.com/cityoflasvegas) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/cityoflasvegas).Use #stateofvegas on your posts to join the conversation.
Mayor Goodman was elected to office in 2011, following her husband, former Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, who served three terms as mayor starting in 1999.
The address will be broadcast live, beginning promptly at 5 p.m. Audio feed for the media will be available at the back of the chambers from mult-boxes. The livestream of the event also will be available to embed on websites for live viewing. Please email [email protected] for the embed code. Rebroadcasts of the address will air on KCLV at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, and 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.
Electronic media are encouraged to arrive early to do audio checks; no microphones will be allowed on the podium. An area for media cameras will be provided at the back of the chambers. Once the program gets under way, photographers and videographers are asked to remain in their locations. However, in the event that leaving becomes necessary, the rear chamber exits should be used in order to minimize disruptions. The media should be in place no later than 4:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers in order to minimize disruptions. Following the address, Mayor Goodman will be available for media interviews.
Finally, parking for media will be in the City Hall Garage or in the parking lot to the immediate north of City Hall on Lewis Avenue for live trucks. To access the live truck parking head north on Main Street and make a right on Lewis Avenue.
